Re-Branding Campaign

The University of Arizona's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is made up of very diverse schools - from a multitude of agriculture and food related divisions to family studies, human development and retailing and consumer sciences.

Over time, this diversity lead to very different interpretations of who CALS is.

The CALS communications team was charged with uniting the schools under
one umbrella brand that truly
represented the College as a whole.
I worked closely with the communications team to develop a marketing presentation that was used to pitch their new branding campaign to the Dean and the executive board.

I researched companies that had gone through a similar re-branding effort and I explored each of CALS schools, before I wrote a script and designed a high energy PowerPoint presentation integrating persuasive text, compelling photography and moving video.  The response was overwhelmingly positive and the presentation was turned into a video
that was subsequently rolled out to additional groups connected to CALS.

The images here typify the print design concept that I created for the campaign and they were so well received that they became a model for the final look.

These particular pieces include my photography.

International Arid Lands Consortium

The director of the International Arid Lands Consortium at the University of Arizona hired me to organize, write and design marketing materials for the program.

I created a comprehensive packet that includes a brochure to market the program to prospective clients, a  pamphlet that highlights some of the organization's success stories, a tiered group of inserts that describes in detail the expertise areas the consortium focuses on and a bookmark that simply reiterates the organization details in a "take-away" style - all enclosed in a striking, colorful folder that provides instant identification of the IALC as a global entity.
